Why does self-worth affect a person with autism’s ability to find and keep a job?

People with disabilities can often enter a depressive state in which they feel they are not good enough for certain jobs and thus do not seek employment. If an employer knows his employee has low self-worth they will likely fire them in fear of having to provide assistance/support.
