Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can cause social, communication, and behavioral challenges for individuals. The online journal Nature.com defines neurodevelopmental disorders as "a group of disorders in which the development of the central nervous system is disturbed. This can include developmental brain dysfunction, which can manifest as neuropsychiatric problems or impaired motor function, learning, language or non-speaking communication" (2018). 

Watch this video (12 min, 56 sec) created by Navigating Teen Life where Victoria Kisslinger interviews four teens with autism, and each gives their own point of view on what it's like to have autism.

Based on the video, think about the kinds of barriers your library may present to someone with autism. Write down 2-3 challenges someone with communication and social challenges might face in your library.
